Project summary

The project is going to be carried out by a consortium consisting of two companies: Alkor Sp. z o.o. and Safe Co. LTD. Sp. z o.o. The project’s purpose is the scientific description and demonstration of the unified technology of moving of particularly heavy, large-size floating and hydrotechnical constructions (offshore) between land and floating docking or transporting devices, with the use of automated calculation algorithms.

The project is going to be carried out in three stages as development works. In the first stage design works are going to take place and in the other two stages – experimental development works. The project is going to be carried out by two companies with complementary competences and extensive experience in the shipbuilding industry. The R&D team consists of scientists deriving from the Gdańsk University of Technology and of the subcontractor with experienced scientific and technical personnel. As a result of the project, consortium members will launch to the market the innovative service of large-size constructions’ moving from land to water and from water to land. The project’s realization will contribute to the increase of the competitive position of the two above-mentioned companies and the development of the Polish shipbuilding industry.

Development works will concern:

  1. carrying analyses, including numerical analyses, and simulations in order to work on a concept of docking with the use of SPMT platforms on a floating vessel of the docking platform (hereinafter referred to as PPD), together with the transport of the docked constructions.
  2. preparing of the project documentation of the PPD’s prototype and of the carrying platform’s prototype and also software using automated algorithms
  3. creating and testing of the floating docking platform and a carrying platform in the actual prototype conditions

The result of the project will be, among others:

  1. The innovative floating docking platform that enables the transport of the large-size constructions from land to water and from water to land.
  2. The increased security of the process of the load’s moving on land thanks to the use of solutions that provide great maneuverability on the uneven ground.
  3. The possibility of heavy constructions’ transport form land to water and from water to land on the wharfs with low permissible load capacity.
  4. The reduced time of the vessels’ docking and undocking.
  5. The implementation in the two above-mentioned companies of the automated calculation algorithms with the use of the software that plans, estimates, steers and controls the safety of the constructions’ moving process.

Period of time during which the project is going to be carried out: 2020.06.01 – 2022.12.31

Total cost of the project implementation: 23 961 538,75 zł

European Funds contribution: 9 584 615,50 zł

The project is co-financed by the European Union from the funds of the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme. The project is implemented under the contest carried out by the National Center for Research and Development: Fast Track No. 6/1.1.1/2019.
